We are excited to announce that DFA has acquired a significant minority stake in SA Digital Villages (SADV). The transaction, which comes into effect as from 1st April 2016, will see SADV reposition itself as a wholesale open access FTTH service provider in the South African market.

SA Digital Villages is a full Telecommunications Operator as well as an Internet Service Provider specialising in the installation, operation and maintenance of last mile fibre optic networks, on which we provide an entire suite of world class services. Not only do we include the initial deployment of the infrastructure, but the management and operation of the services to the customer.

Our services currently include a comprehensive a range of Business and Residential services to a wide range of customers including some of SA’s major operators, leading businesses as well as a number of premium residential estates.

Our Residential class services include world class high speed Broadband and Digital Telephony as well as a range of Value Add Services provided through our Content Portal. Some of these services include Video-on-Demand, Visitor Announcement systems integrated with access control, Golf Bookings, Cell Panic, Home Alarm Monitoring, Document Management, Automated Backups, Video Conferencing, Digital Home Security and On-line Gaming

Our Business class services include High Speed Business Broadband, IP PBX and Voice solutions, Hosting services, Cloud services, Consulting Services, Platinum Email Collaboration suite and various Managed Access Services to operators and Multi National Enterprises.

We pride ourselves on the fact that we do not resell already contended internet services, but deliver services on our leading edge IPV6 network while managing relationships with all the major submarine cables landing in South Africa, providing a customer experience never before seen in South Africa.

SADV will provide the customer with a full end to end solution including the following:
1. Consultation - We will consult with the customer to define the services required.
2. Design – We will design the network required to provide these services.
3. Implementation – We will supply and implement the network required.
4. Operation – We will provide and operate the services required by the customer.

We will take ownership of the project from end to end, getting involved with the project management and co-ordination of the various items including the Civil Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Architects, Telecoms Providers, Security planning, Design and Implementation.

Once the project has been completed, we would provide a portal through which our various services are provided. This provides a secure logon for each user giving them access to the particular services they require.

We then have a comprehensive billing platform which manages the customer's usage and billing on a monthly basis, also allowing for self-provisioning and self-care.

We believe that we provide a unique solution to our clients whereby we provide an end to end solution for the provision of infrastructure and services required, thereby removing the need for the client to make specialised technology decisions and then to have to co-ordinate and project manage the implementation of these services. With the fast changing world of technology and the deregulation of some of these services we believe we are well positioned to make the best decisions on behalf of our clients and to implement these solutions.

For developers, builders and homeowners, the advantages of digital networks have been clearly demonstrated in countries where FTTH has been in place for some time. There is anecdotal evidence that the presence of high speed broadband and its related services changes people’s lives and enhances the values of properties while also ensuring the rapid sale of properties relative to non-fibre enabled communities.
